They really need ot rethink stats instead of this, the problem with Rivens is this, a strong 300% mod as example won't do much on a 100 slash damage pistol while a Riven with only 120% but 400 Slash is far more efficient. The Kuva Weapons did this even more, but then also they try to "balance" with things like the Magus and Bronco Mods from Nightwave, which are a joke for a limited mod not everyone can get to make a old wepaon somewhat reliable again. I do agree but then maybe they should change the name or make it it's own thing entirely, it simply confuses, even worse with to many variants also, Latron as example has normal, Prime, Wraith, this is way to much honestly already, now imagine this having 3 Rivens individual. Reaper Prime has more design similarities to Hate than to Ether Reaper. I know a lot of people think Ether Reaper > Reaper Prime, but the Ether weaponry is its own thing and doesn't really follow pre-existing weapons. So this begs the question, if rivens now treat weapons differently depending on if it's the prime or the original, and the riven system treats the "Dragon Nikana" as a seperate weapon family, is there any reason to believe we could see a Dragon Nikana Prime? To finally claim the Nikana throne once and for all? a riven on a Braton Prime would be weaker then if it was applied to the regular Braton. However, as far as I'm aware in current Warframe, riven disposition is now affected depending on the weapon in the "weapon family" as DE calls it. Interestingly, with The War Within, which introduced Rivens, either intentionally or as part of a glitch (I'm on the theory of it being a glitch, probably something to do with the "Dragon" Prefix confusing the riven system.) made two Nikana rivens, one for Nikana which applies to Nikana and Nikana Prime, and a Dragon Nikana riven which only applied to itself and as a result, while the Nikana Prime is better than the Dragon Nikana, the unique Dragon Nikana rivens made it stronger than the Nikana Prime again with a good roll, because of depositions. The Dragon Nikana being an upgrade to the Nikana, and the Nikana Prime being an upgrade to the Dragon Nikana. With it, the Dragon Nikana was dethroned as the best Nikana. These weapons would be introduced to us in the future with Saryn Prime acess. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.) and the Nikana Prime. Alongside it came the Spira Prime (Which I think was labeled as the Kunai Prime, and the Spira didn't exist yet. Excalibur Umbra "Prime" (Prime in name only I believe.) was showcased off on the Chinese build of Warframe, to be their version of the Founders program. I remember that I used to contact a friend on Steam when an Oxium alert came about, 300 Oxium may not seem like a lot, but at least to me and my friends back then it was. ![]() And given Oxium wasn't given out as easily back then, I can understand why. When I joined Warframe in late 2014 I was told by other players that the Dragon Nikana existed as a badge of honor, something to show you are an advanced or veteran player. The Nikana series of weapons (family type, not weapon catagory) has had an interesting history and I apologize if I get anything incorrect. I know this probably sounds dumb and the responce will initially be "Nikana Prime is the Prime of Dragon Nikana" or something like that, but hear me out. ![]()
